if EMC just crashes then look for proceseses stating with plat/.....
ps -ef | grep plat
if there are processes hanging around just kill them....
kill -9 PID
where PID is the first numeric value shown up in the above command.
I suggest not removing the emc.lock file, since it will allow emc to
perform cleanup tasks (you'll be prompted for this, pls respond "y")
such as shared memory cleanup, replacing loadable modules, etc.
