Re: problem with tar file emc-1.1.-17.src.tgz

First. I tried my copy of emc-1.1-17.src.tgz again.
The file size 2.3Mb rather than 1.9Mb was now displayed
correctly but I still get a 1.9Mb file when downloading off
sourceforge http server.

The FTP server seemed to work though.

ftp://ftp.sourceforge.net/pub/sourceforge/EMC/emc-1.1-17.src.tgz

The udivdi3 and umoddi3 are undefined symbols that come out
of libm. I haven't found a real elegant solution to this yet.

The version of libm/libc that come with RedHat 6.2 seem to be ok
but the version with RedHat 7 causes this problem.

The latest CVS has one possible work around, which was to replace
libm in the link with my own hacked together library smallmath.o.

It might be better just to go with RedHat 6.2 if that's an option
for you. ( The other possibly related problem with RedHat 7 was that
it shipped with a development version of gcc instead of a stable
release. )
