EMC & system reboots

Hi John.

I have experienced the same problems on a new install I've been working on. My
old system is stable, and runs without a hint of crashing. Running through a
few combinations of kernels, it is my opinion that one of the SCSI or sound
modules is the culprit. Compiling a kernel with the minimum of basic options
enabled, the problem disappears.
I would recommend that anyone compiling the kernel removes ALL chip specific
options - Except for essential drivers such as network cards if fitted.
