There are several new commercial Hexapods:
see January 2001 issue of "Modern Machine Shop" page 183,184
Seen at the JIMTOF 2000 show in Japan:
Hitachi Seiki's PA35II
Toyoda's HexaM
Okuma's Cosmocenter PM600 (1.5 G acceleration, 100 m/min feed rate!)
The article goes on to notice that dual ball screws/axis are becoming
standard due to the higher feed rates achievable and greater rigidity.
