RTLinux - version numbers
Hi All.
After downloading the latest CVS version of EMC and the rcslib - and hitting a
brick wall with the emc compile.
Using kernel 2.2.17 and rtl-3.0, I noticed that the kernel no longer reports
the rtl version number. A potential problem - as emc queries the kernel for
the version numbers before loading the various modules. One of three solutions
here :
1) Create a link pointing to the real time directory in emc/plat/ called
rtlinux_
2) Edit the top level make in /usr/src/linux so that EXTRAVERSION reads
-rtl3.0 or which ever is correct for the current rtlinux version.
3) Fix emc to only use emc/plat/realtime/ and emc/plat/nonrealtime
I'm not sure if the rcslib and emc make files use the kernel to determine the
current build platform - If it does, it could explain some of the problems I'm
having.
Regards, Paul.
