generic.run is copied to emc.run during the first install, so at the beginning 
they are identical. If you install again to the same directory then the original
emc.run will be left but generic.run will be updated.

If you want you could make your  own custom edits to emc.run and they won't be 
destroyed in the next install, although other changes might make that script 
incompatible with the latest version.



You can open the .run file with any editor.(Open the editor first, then open
the text file within it.)

For a text editor, I prefer emacs, other choices are vi,kwrite,gvim, gedit, or 
notepad (on Windows).
