Well, if this is true I am sure as hell canceling any plans to purchase on
of these!  I guess if you don't want their internet service you can't buy
their appliance, at least in their feeble minds!  Sounds like a childish
temper tantrum to me, if you don't want our service we will just take our
toys and go home.

I just read that netpliance has made changes to their iopener product
specifically designed to thwart those who want to re-engineer their
machine to run Linux or other any other non-authorized software.  The
changes have been implemented on new units made after March 20, 2000.
