Tim, Fred, thanks for the help -
I got the 15-Mar build from the 2.0.36 and it seems to have compiled fine.
The ./install put stuff in a 2.0.36 directory structure with this build.
I'll bet I got the 2.2.13 build originally, with the idea that by the time
I actually got some hardware to run with EMC, 2.2.13 would be stable.

Right now, this is pretty much an academic exercise - learn a little Linux,
get a grasp on EMC and G-code programming, see if I can get RTlinux
running right on a 486, that kind of thing. (I followed Arne's
instructions, but my sound card isn't working yet, so I'm not convinced I
got it right.) I'd also like to build a crude psuedo x-y positioner, just
coupling nuts on all-thread, but I'm on the horns of a dilemma. My 486
probably won't run steppers, right? I have some small servo motors, but
don't want to shell out for an STG card for an exercise. I don't know if
it's within my capabilities to hack one together on a PC prototyping card.

Oh, well. That's enough delurking for one post.
