As Jon said, G80 cancels any canned cycle that was active, and also
cancels any G0, G1, G2, or G3 that was active. It effectively clears the
motion mode so that you have to explicitly set it again.

You don't need to say G80 after a canned cycle. You can program a G0 or
G1 right away.

I never use it except at the beginning of a program, and then only as
part of the standard prologue to defend against a program assuming that
G0 is active when in fact it was left as G81.
