Homebrew STG - Speed of USB

Hi all!
Have you ever consideres SERCOS as a Protocol for your Motor-Controller? as
you have already come to the most innovative Ideas, it should be said that
sercos is the only OPEN Standardized Motor controller Bus.
I have just read that USB is going to deliver 480 MBit/s brutto, 40 MByte/s
netto in the future. But the question is not about speed, but about
affordability and simplicity.
On the other hand, it is useful to connect to standards. SERCOS is a srong
standard. So it must be becoming cheaper. Look at www.sercos.com .
