I agree that the goal should be to just replace a STG board in a single
system that is dedicated to just controlling a machine. I look at my EMC
system like an industrial CNC controller. no one expects to surf the
internet or do graphics and word processing on a Fanuc, so why do so many
people want a PC replacement to be their do everything computer. Just seems
like a bad attempt to save money.

OK, enough ranting.

I would be up for buying a STG replacement if it would keep me from having
to purchase a real STG.
