Unfortunately, it is a copyrighted document. I was able to get a copy from
a library. But, it is a VERY general document, and is entirely concerned
with the specification of the FORM of the language, and very little indeed
with the MEANING of what the commands do. So, it tells what the
X Y and Z words do, and what an M02 means, but when it gets down to
the real deep details of how a machine moves from one location to
another, the RS-274D spec is extremely vague. I really wouldn't bother.
What you really want is one of the INTERPRETER working documents,
which are available on the NIST web site.
Take a look at :

I think you'll find this a lot more specific to using EMC.
