Re: EMC and Red Hat 8.0

Hi Folks

A minimal RH 8.0 install with gcc-3.2.
2.4.20 kernel patched with rtai CVS code.

Initial results look promising - Aside from a fatal compile error with one of
the low level SCSI modules there were no significant errors logged. Even the
rtai interrupt trap tables compiled cleanly.

The built in rtai examples and tests that I've tried produce the expected
results...

With only 1.2G of disk space and no XFree86 installed or gcc++, EMC tests
will have to wait until I can liberate a bigger drive.

Sivaraj - If you still have RH8.0 installed, try the latest kernel and rtai
patch. Usual warning here. Use a virgin kernel source rather than a Red Hat
one - You will find RH add various "fixes" that result in any realtime
patches producing a number of reject hunks.

Regards, Paul.
