Paul,

Thanks for the fix, that did fix the module loading problem. Still no
(real-time) joy though. rtsim.run hangs at:
...
starting EMC MOTION PROGRAM -- simmod.o...Warning: [Added line break]
plat/rtai/lib/simmod.o symbol for parameter IO_BASE_ADDRESS not found
Warning: loading plat/rtai/lib/simmod.o will taint the kernel: no license
Warning: loading plat/rtai/lib/simmod.o will taint the kernel: forced load
Running inisim to send INIFILE simulation parameters to the real-time simulator.

By hangs I mean it will take 100% of a 700 MHz cpu for >two hours.

stepper.run quits with:
...
starting EMC TASK PROGRAM -- minimilltask...done

EMC_TOOL_HALT

I looked into the ini file, but I did not see anything obvious to
change is it likely to be a config file problem?. From previous list
messages the shared memory message is not a problem so it looks like
the real issues are the "...Can't send EMCMOT_DEACTIVATE_AXIS..." and
the "emcsh.cc 5642: can't connect to emc".
