RTAI is great. Support (via the mailing list) is very responsive, and
the original writer of the code in question is likely to answer your
question directly. Also, it has much more functionality. Furthermore, it
is "real" open source, as opposed to RTLinux, which after all, is still
a commercial project of the company FSM Labs (you may want to read about
the "rtlinux patent" discussion for further information).
