You could hand edit the file...

Better yet, if you want to do letters get the free download from
http://deskam.com/   Deskengrave.    This program takes truetype fonts
and spits out suitable G-code that is digestable to EMC.

The only changes that I had to make to DeskEngrave's G-code is to adjust the
Z value as I have oriented my machine to have Z=0=table surface (It wants
to make Z a negative value).  This is a quick search and replace operation in 
an editor or with any of the linux command line tools.
