RE: BDI 2.11 Install problem, help please.

I did not find what I would call step by step instructions but I think I
figured it out.

I downloaded http://www.fourmilab.ch/md5/md5.zip and run the md5.exe program
in a command prompt window with the command line.

md5 bdiemc-2.11-01.iso

Running this on a Win2000 system at work, this is also where I burned the
CD.
This is what I got.

E79B7936F52A166EB32A328C473306D1 Calculated sum.
e79b7936f52a166eb32a328c473306d1 Sum from http://www.yty.net/cnc/bdi.html

So that checks out. Any chance the CD got burned wrong? I had to change
the extension from "img" to "iso" but I do not think that should be a
problem.
Any other ideas?

Thanks

Hi Andre

Snipped a load out here to keep things short....

The hardware you have isn't on the "To be Avoided" list except perhaps the
USB ports. The network and graphics cards are both well supported under
linux.

The telling thing is the trace report - This would indicate that a base
package cannot be found. Possibly due to a corrupted file. I would suggest
following Henkka's instructions* for verifying the checksum and see if they
tally.

* http://www.yty.net/cnc - follow the link to the BDI download.

Regards, Paul.
