There are two realtime patches that will work under RH7.2.
1) RTLinux from FSM Labs which uses the 2.4.4 kernel.
http://www.rtlinux.org

2) RTAI which will work with most kernels up to 2.4.17.
http://rtai.org

EMC will compile with either one. My personal recommendation is rtai, 
although this does require some fiddling with compilers to get it to work 
properly.
Currently, I'm working on a Brain Dead Install using rtai and a 2.4.16 kernel 
based on RH7.2. If you need any help, feel free to contact me off list.
