GGI? was emc panel

I have been reviewing the emc panel idea, and have come accross GGI, generic
graphics interface... it appears (from my 'oh--so' limited knowledge on the
subject) that GGI could be used to 'link' a control panel (actually a
modified keyboard) to a specific program, so that one USB keyboard would
always be connected to the GUI.  Has anyone looked into this?
