This should probably be set to 3

This is OK.

> HOME_OFFSET =                   0.0
This says that you'll home right on the index pulse.

> HOME_SWITCH_POLARITY =          0
This is what you'll probably need to change.

This sets the direction that the axis will seek the home switch.
