part IV: alpha, linux-2.4.0-test9, & rtlinux-3.0-pre8 update

hello;

before i wander of to run some late night
errands i thought i would give you a quick
update.

i have been looking at possible reasons
why gcc-2.95.2 will not compile certain
emc files. i have sent off a detailed bug
report to the gcc team. they have been
helpful in the past and i should hear
back from them shortly. (by friday).

i have not split iosh.cc into iosh.cc & iosh.c
as of yet. like i said i am tracking down possible
causes concerning emc source files not compiling.

i have added some changes to emcmot.h, emcmot.c, &
emcstepmot.c. emcmot.h is included in both emcmot.c
& emcstepmot.c. unfortunately emcmot.h declares
init_module & cleanup_module as extern.
i have no idea why none of the compilers ever
caught this. there are some other changes based
on compiler warning messages from gcc-2.95.2 before
it died on emcmot.c & emcstepmot.c.

on a related front, i have joined the rtl mailing list.
i have received some response from several people concerning
rtlinux-3.0-pre8 running on the alpha platform. however,
still no real progress to report.
