Ok, I got it working tonight.  I did as was recommended by the list, plus
used some good advice from Ray ,via the phone.

Here's what I did to get it working on Mandrake7.0 with the August 2.2.14
binary release:


Ray told me to copy the file
/usr/local/nist/rcslib/plat/linux_2_2_14/lib/librcs.so   into /usr/lib/

I ran ./install_rtlinux_base

Then, on the advice of the group, Matt and William, I copied cp generic.nml
emc.nml.   If you don't do that emc "eats" the emc.ini file and makes it a
file with 0 bytes in it.

Ok, now it's working on my AMD K6 400 mega with 64 meg of ram and it appears
to run more slowly than my older machines.  I am running KDE and want to
find a lighter windows manager.  Does anyone have any advice for me there?
Is Icewm better for resources?
